Hi there! I’m Tony, a caffeine drinking, chocolate and carbohydrate eating, sleep deprived, star gazing, mountain climbing, urban exploring, travel enthusiast. Welcome to my world!
Some people could also say that I am an accomplished travel, adventure, lifestyle and portrait photographer based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. More people though would likely say otherwise and have no real idea who I am other than being @tonnes on Instagram. Personally, I would say that my philosophy of doing what inspires and makes me smile, brings joy to others, and doing all things with love, has enabled me to become a photographer renowned for exploring and showcasing off-beat and unfrequented destinations worldwide. In particular I have showcased the beauty of the east coast of Queensland (Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Scenic Rim). Now with over 10 years experience, a few more grey hairs than I admit, and many life lessons learned, I feel I have only achieved this through perseverance, dedication, passion and the unwavering love, support and ultimately inspiration of my family.
My dedication to detail coupled with a motivation for meaningful storytelling has enabled me to soulfully document raw untouched landscapes and create emotive art that encourages individuals to consider their presence on their surroundings. At my very core and from behind the lens I have always tried to document and exhibit the beautiful creations that we have been so blessed to enjoy, in the hope that it inspires others to fall in love with chasing their dreams and exploring the ends of the earth, to write their own adventure.
Success is an interesting notion and undoubtedly valued differently by everyone. In the social media influencer world of today, my photographs have been featured digitally and in print form in various publications, with countless images commissioned locally for promotions, advertising and destination guides by tourism boards (Destination Southern Downs, Tourism Queensland and Queensland National Parks and Hiking guide). Many of my printed works are visible in office spaces throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Most humbling of all however are the pieces hanging in private living spaces around the world. It’s these everyday people who are the unsung hero in my story, as they are the pivotal factor in my motivation to better myself and grow as a successful professional photographer.
Keep an eye out for me in the early morning hours along the Gold Coast coastline chasing those first rays of light over the horizon, or hiking through Lamington National park in search of hidden tranquil waterfalls. More than likely though you will see me traipsing at night finding vantage spots of the city skylines, or out in an open field chasing the milky way come astrophotography season.
